Return visit of the UNESCO scholarship students
There is a vivid exchange on the student level between Heidelberg and Phnom Penh.
Granted by the UNESCO, we again hosted two student guests from the
Royal University of Fine Arts and Architecture (RUFA),
Cambodia, coming with the help of UNESCO scholarships in October, 2006.
IWR Innovation Award in
Scientific Computing for Cultural Heritage
In 2006 the IWR of the University of Heidelberg started to offer
a grant to encourage students from Cambodia to plan and undertake
a research project contributing to the cultural heritage of Angkor.

UNESCO scholarship students from Cambodia
From October 8 to December 4, 2005, we hosted the following guests in the
Angkor Project Group at IWR, University of Heidelberg: Four UNESCO
scholarship holders from the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA),
Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism,
at Phnom Penh, Cambodia and a lecturer also from RUFA, Phnom Penh,
funded by the German Development Service (DED).

Temple reconstructions were initially sponsored by the
Gottlieb Daimler- und Karl Benz-Stiftung in a
programm called
Computer Modeling, Analysis and Visualization of Angkor Wat Style Temples in Cambodia.
We also express our thanks for the sponsoring of Internet access at the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA).
