He has close contact to collaborates with universities in Vietnam and Thailand. Ganesha In recent years, this interest extended to Cambodia, and contacts were made with the National Museum and universities. During the visit of Prof. Bock, a project of students from IWR, Heidelberg, and students from the Royal University of Fine Arts and Architecture, RUFA, Phnom Penh was initiated. A Memorandum of Understanding was set up and signed by the officials of RUFA, H. E. Prof. Hor Lat, Dean of Faculty of Archeology, Prof. Ching Chhommoy, Dean of Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, Prof. Nhean Tharath, and Prof. Hans Georg Bock, Director of IWR.

Ganesha, a famous Hindu deity, is worshipped before any venture is started. The son of Shiva and Parvati has an elephantine countenance and the huge pot-bellied body of a human being. With his trunk he is the destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is the Lord of vanity, selfishness and pride. People mostly worship Him asking for siddhi, success in undertakings, and buddhi, intelligence.

So do we at the beginning of this project of students from IWR, Heidelberg, and RUFA, Phnom Penh.
